Blueprint Gaming Sites

Blueprint Gaming are one of the largest casino software companies around. Despite a vast array of titles being created only a handful appear on Nektan sites. Te company is best known for some of its licensed titles such as Rick & Morty, Inspector Gadget and Ted. Below is a list of Nektan casino sites that feature slots from Blueprint Gaming.

The Story Behind Blueprint Gaming

Blueprint Gaming is a relatively small UK based gaming software company. Its headquarters and main office is situated in Nottinghamshire, which is situated in the east Midlands, or possibly the North of England. This minor geographical technicality is one of considerable controversy for many UK residents. ‘Softy’ southerners feel anything north of Watford is the North, whilst most non-Londoners take a different view.

Founded in 2001, the company has around fifty employees, most of whom live in the Midlands (or the North).

Although Blueprint Gaming is focused on the design of gaming software, this is not produced solely for the online market. In fact, its early years were more closely linked with land based casino game design and manufacturing. Indeed, the company continues to develop many games for real world casinos to this day. This is largely through its link-up with its parent company the Gauselmann Group. This German conglomerate boasts annual revenues of close to €3 billion, so it is one of the biggest players in the European gaming market.

Gauselmann is a family owned and run firm, with interests in all aspects of the gaming industry. This includes both online and real world gaming, and sports betting. It is a major supplier of games to land based casinos, including operating its own cabinet manufacturing division. It also has numerous subsidiaries, including Blueprint’s sister software operation Merkur Gaming.

Blueprint Gaming’s talented games development skills were noticed early on in the company’s history, with Gauselmann acquiring a 50% stake in the UK based firm in 2008. This was later consolidated in 2012 by a complete takeover.

It is always interesting when a plucky little independent design company is acquired by a major international gaming industry giant. It usually goes one of two ways. Sometimes (maybe usually), the smaller company is swallowed up by the bureaucracy and corporate machinery of its new owners – sometimes even the name itself is lost as it is subsumed and absorbed into the conglomerate machinery.

Alternatively, the original company is held at arm’s length, able to continue to operate independently. This can work well if it is allowed to happen. The smaller party has access to its owners’ financial support and industry muscle, whilst the ‘Big Name’ gets the kudos of its new acquisition’s brand recognition and independent, innovative spirit.

In the case of the Gauselmann Group and Blueprint Gaming, the arrangement has seemed to work out well, and in the interests of both parties. There have been some changes – Blueprint is today more focused on its online design work, whilst Gauselmann’s Merkur division is tasked with more of the land based sector. Nevertheless, Blueprint remains a largely independently operating Nottinghamshire based business, but with a far more international reach than it could have expected a decade ago.

What To Expect From Blueprint Gaming

With more than two decades of experience in the software design industry, Blueprint Gaming have developed a diverse portfolio of quality titles. Its early years were very much focused on arcade, amusement and casino cabinet games, but the rise of online gaming in the early years of the 21st Century saw a switch in approach. This has become even more pronounced today, as Gauselmann’s Merkur division takes care of much of the land based games output. Yet even today, not all of Blueprint’s titles are available to play online.

Nevertheless, Blueprint Gaming are a popular choice for casino operators. They are keen on the calibre and variety of games on offer, which are excellent for providing more choice for their novelty seeking players.

Popular games amongst the Blueprint range include some surprising hits. Buffalo Rising and Fishin’ Frenzy are unexpected player favourites. Angling in particular, has not hitherto been regarded as a likely subject matter for slots.

But the company do produce a good selection of more typical genres. Luck O’ the Irish, Slots O’ Gold and Wish upon a Leprechaun should keep lucky rainbow and shamrock seekers happy, while Scribes of Thebes and Tomb of Dead are provided for players who favour the pharaohs.

Blueprint have been able to use their impeccable reputation and industry connections to acquire some excellent officially licenced opportunities. Branded games include many excellent TV, movie and animation brands. The Goonies and Ted are top notch movie themed slots, while Hanna Barbera animated hero Top Cat and TV antiheroes Rick and Morty are transformed from the small screen to the computer or smartphone with aplomb.

The slot conversions don’t end there though. The company’s Deal or No Deal formats are immensely popular, especially in the United Kingdom’s pubs and amusement halls. There are also slot versions of the irreverent UK animated adult ‘comic’ Viz, and also the iconic Daily Mirror cartoon character Andy Capp. Blueprint Gaming’s talents even stretch as far as the sporting world too, with their officially licenced PDC World Darts Championship game bringing the tension of the oche and the thrill of the nine dart finish to the world of online slots.

The company also produce games exclusively for their corporate clients and partners. These include slots for the exclusive use of industry giants like William Hill and Virgin Games.

Blueprint also excels at producing special editions of their own designs. Many are upgraded to provide progressive jackpot prizes, under the branding ‘Jackpot King’. Such titles include the likes of King Kong Cash, Mega Bars, 7s Deluxe and Wonders of Egypt to name just a few. There are well over a dozen at the time of writing, with further conversions likely in the near future.

The company have also licenced the extremely popular six reel format Megaways TM. This complex but entertaining mechanic offers players the opportunity to play for up to and over 100,000 different winning combinations on one spin, depending on the reel layout. Titles available in Megaways TM from include Diamond Mine, Eye of Horus, Mighty Griffin and Wish upon a Jackpot. Again, there are plenty more available – over thirty at the time of writing this, with more on the way.

Blueprint Gaming also produce a select range of scratch cards. These are derived from the company’s slot designs.

Blueprint Gaming games are widely available on casinos licenced and regulated for the United Kingdom and European online casino market. This includes casinos operating on the Nektan platform, so look out for them at your chosen Nektan casino.
